Heartland finds new president, reminds of summer and fall registration

Heartland Community College is seeing some changes in the future when it comes to administration.

Associate Director of Public Information Steve Fast explained why there will be a new face present come July.

“Our current president Rob Widmar is going to retire on June 30 at the end of this fiscal year and we’ve just completed the process of hiring his successor, which would be Keith Cornille, who takes office on July 1,” Fast said.

He also reminds people if they are interested in attending Heartland that summer and fall class registration is open.

“Summer classes are open for registration. They’ll be here before you know it. But, also, now is a good time to look into fall registration, because we have open registration available for fall classes. So, if students or prospective students are interested in attending Heartland in the fall, now is a good time to look into courses that are available. If you are thinking about a credit program for the first time, it’s a good time to meet with an advisor and look into classes for the fall,” Fast said.
