Red Carpet happenings Saturday in Pontiac

The Red Carpet Corridor is this Saturday and Pontiac has activities and events lined up for the annual celebration.

Mary Jones, tourism specialist for the City of Pontiac, lists the events.

“We have our Trunken Treasure Sale, we will have local organizations set up on the courthouse square with information about their organizations, all of our museums will be open that day from 9 to 5. For the first time this year, we’re going to be having giant lawn games on Washington Street and that’s in partnership with Pontiac Parks and Rec. The Recreation Center will have the Touch A Truck  going on from 10 to noon Saturday and the PROUD Carnival will happening that weekend, as well, out at Vermillion Plaza,” Jones said.

She also explained why the typical two day event is now only one.

“Because the festival in most of the communities is a volunteer run event, it was just hard to get the manpower needed to put on such a big event,” Jones said.
