Destination Dwight happening Saturday during Red Carpet Corridor

Dwight, the northernmost community on Livingston County along Route 66, has two full days of events planned this weekend for the Red Carpet Corridor Festival.

Festivities begin Friday at Springfest at 5 p.m. at the Guardian Angel Basset Rescue Park at 413 W. Waupansie Street with food stands, cheerleaders performances, games, a bags tournament and ends with a high school talent show and DJ Doug Patten from 8:30 to 10.

Saturday is a time to visit the famous Ambler/Becker Historic Gas station from 9 to 4 to pick up the collectible magnet for this year’s Red Carpet. The Cabo Wabo Springfest/Route 66 Smoke-Out will also be at the Rescue Park from 10 to 6, with a BBQ contest, food trucks, entertainment, drinks and many activities for children and adults alike. Included at the park is Touch a Truck, caricature drawings, rock painting, a bake sale and more. Entertainment for the day includes Finale Dance, music by User Friendly, Chris Corkerly and Pete Jive and BBQ winners will be announced at 3.
