Pontiac woman sentenced to 22 years in prison

A Pontiac woman was sentenced to 22 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections Wednesday.

According to a press release from the Dwight Police, thirty five year old Elisha Hallam plead guilty to three counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.

The Dwight Narcotics Unit with the Livingston County Proactive Unit started an investigation on Hallam in September 2017, along with Carlos Montes, Felicia Bustle and Steven Carls. The four were taken into custody after a heroin deal in October 2017.

At the time of the arrest, numerous pill capsules containing heroin, hypodermic syringes, drug paraphernalia and baggies with white powdery substance that tested to be heroin were found in a car along with the four subjects.

Agents recovered 12 grams of heroin sold by Hallam.

The other three subjects are currently awaiting sentencing or trial.

Agencies assisting with the investigation included the Dwight Police, Livingston County Sheriff’s Police, Dwight and Livingston County K9 units and the Livingston County State’s Attorney’s office.
