PONTIAC – The Livingston County Workforce is welcoming people to attend a free resume development workshop on Thursday.
It’s recommended that people bring copies of their work history or a rough draft of a resume. Outreach and Business Services Specialist Tricia Brubaker said the Workforce Services staff will be available to guide people who need to update their resume or make a new one all together.
“We’ll kind of asses up-front if they have a resume that they’ve started working on or not, so we’ll gage that first, and then we’ll work with them individually as to determine what is good to have on their resume, asses what their skills are,” Brubaker explained.
Brubaker said it will be hosted in room 222 above the Pontiac Public Library. She noted the staff will help people make the best resume they can craft.
“We are certified resume writers, so we know some tips and hints that we can provide for them to help it visually look more appealing, as well as the actual content being sufficient for their job,” said Brubaker.
The event will last at most two hours. Brubaker said anyone interested in attending the workshop should call and reserve a seat at (309) 268-8280.
