Vice-President Mike Pence was in Springfield last week, campaigning for Republican Congressman Rodney Davis. Davis hails from Taylorville and is working to retain his seat in the Illinois 13th Congressional District. Pence said that keeping Davis in office could be a critical part of keeping the GOP in control in the U.S. House. Pence made his remarks at a fundraising dinner on Friday night. Davis has conducted several successful campaigns, but he told sister station WJBC that the Vice-President had offered his assistance in the campaign, so he took him up on his offer.
