Breast Cancer Awareness Month begins Oct. 1, and the Livingston County Public Health Department is doing its share to bathe everything in pink.
For $4, people can purchase pink light bulbs at the department, located on Torrance Avenue. They are also invited to sell the pink light bulbs as a fund raiser for their organizations.
The Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program helps women in Livingston County ages 35-64 who have no health insurance, to receive pap smears and mammograms, as early detection is key is the best defense when it comes to those cancers.
For more information, contact the health department at 844-7174.
