Wait—you mean you didn’t DVR it?!  Yeah, us either.  But here’s a quick rundown. 

First of all, YES, of course Kanye crashed someone’s acceptance speech!  As Beck took the stage for his Best Album of the Year award, Kanye jokingly stormed the stage, acting like he was going to snatch Beck’s trophy, before laughing and taking his seat.  It wasn’t until after the award shows that good ole Yeezy went on a rant about artistic inspiration and undeserving musicians; swearing that the rock star should have given his award to Beyonce.  His actions, he said, could be chalked up to him being “drunk in love” with his wife, Kim Kardashian West, who was by his side all night.

Another jaw-dropping moment from the awards show was Kristin Wiig’s cameo in Sia’s performance of her hit song, Chandelier.  Wiig danced alongside Sia’s little muse, Madi Zeigler from Dance Moms, who has been featured in Sia’s last two music videos.  Shocking, emotional, and a little bit weird; the performance was classically Sia.

Perhaps the most shocking fact of the entire night, however, was the fact that American Princess, Taylor Swift, walked away empty-handed!  The singer went 0 for 3 last night, losing Best Song, Record, and Solo Pop Performance. Better luck next time, Tay!

Performances by Beck, Tony Bennet, Madonna, and Paul McCartney topped our list of favorites this year.  All in all, it was a terrific night of music, with minimal drama, thanks to Kanye being on his best behavior.  Can’t wait for next year!
