High school students planning to major in agriculture, agribusiness or an ag-related course of study have the opportunity to receive the $1,500 scholarship from the Livingston County Farm Bureau.
The LCFB/Ethel K. Hoerner Scholarship Program is awarded based on scholastic ability; service/activities of the applicant in school, church, community; and financial need.
Applicants must be a member or a dependent of a member in good standing with the LCFB, be a resident or a dependent of a resident in Livingston County or attend school in Livingston County and a US Citizen and be a high school senior or candidate for graduation from high school and applied for enrollment at an accredited college, university or community college.
The scholarship is in memory of Ethel K. Hoerner. The LCFB was a recipient of a portion of Hoerner’s estate. She gave this gift which will enable the LCFB to move toward its goals of providing scholarships to students in the county.
Scholarships are available only online at livcfb.org, under education, scholarships. Questions may be directed to the LCFB at 815-842-1103 and are due no later than 4:30 p.m. Feb. 27.
