The annual Christmas Light Up Parade is scheduled to step off in Pontiac Friday at 6:30.
This year’s theme is “Home for the Holidays” in honor of current military personnel and veterans.
The route will begin at the First Lutheran Church on Grove Street. The parade will head east on Grove Street, turn north on Mill then east again on Water Street. From there, they turn north on Chicago Street past Evenglow Lodge, then turn west on Madison Street, which will take them past the historic Livingston County Courthouse and Santa’s House. The route ends at County Market and floats will be directed to the Bank of Pontiac.
The event is sponsored by PROUD and the Humiston and Byrne trusts. Crowd control will be conducted by the law enforcement students at Pontiac Township High School and the football players are helping with lineup.
