A federal judge in Chicago threw out part of a lawsuit that was made against Dan Rutherford during his campaign for Illinois governor in 2014.

The claim against the former State Treasurer was that he ran his office as a campaign operation in 2014. US District Judge Joan Lefkow dismissed that claim, saying there wasn’t enough evidence of that. The claim of sexual harassment will proceed.

All these claims were made by Ed Michalowski, a former Rutherford employee.
