March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month, and the county is experiencing a decrease in colon cancer cases.
Linda Rhodes, Health Education and Marketing Director for the Livingston County Health Department, was a recent guest on the Community Forum, and detailed colon cancer, from testing to treatment.
“The best way to prevent colon cancer is to be screened for it. With other screenings, we’re always looking for that early detection, but with colon cancer screening, you can actually equate that to prevention of the cancer actually happening,” said Rhodes.
