The Pontiac Police Department is announcing the promotion of Jeff Franklin to the rank of detective.

Pontiac Police Major Dan Davis said Franklin has been with the department for almost nine years.

“We’re definitely looking forward to Jeff and his future here. Jeff is from Pontiac. He definitely has ties in the area. He’s just a very good, well-rounded officer and we look forward to what he will be able to perform within the detective section,” Davis said.

Franklin was assigned to the position as a result of Nick Taylor accepting a new position in Arizona.
