After a couple hundred angry protesters showed up to the Livingston County Board meeting last week, causing it to be postponed and relocated to a larger venue, the agenda item they were all waiting to discuss has been removed from the agenda until further notice.
In speaking with Board Chairman Marty Fannin on just exactly why the resolution concerning the Governor’s Turnaround Agenda for Local Government Empowerment and Reform has been removed from the agenda, he said several factors came into play, including members who wanted to table the item, with others who wanted to speak more to constituents and research the subject more, and he wanted to give everyone time to do that.
That meeting has now been rescheduled to 6 p.m. tomorrow at Pontiac Township High School gym, and Fannin said he’s still expecting huge number of concerned citizens who are interested in speaking, and details of public comment will be announced at the beginning of the meeting.
