The University of Illinois Extension is holding the Diabetes Clinic: Pharmacy Talk Thursday, May 19, at the Woodford County Extension office.

Jenna Smith, nutrition and wellness educator for the extension, said the day will be all about learning the ins and outs of diabetes medications.

“Well, this clinic is very special, because we’re going to have a special guest come speak, and that’s Megan Archer. She’s actually a pharmacist from OSF St. Francis Medical Center. She, of course, knows all about diabetes medications and she can help us and you find out what are the new diabetes medications available. She’s going to talk a little bit about how insulin works, how some of those medications like the oral anti-hyperglycemic agents work, so we’re really excited to have her,” Smith said.

There is no cost to attend this class. For information, contact Smith at 309-663-8306.
