If you plan to travel on Interstate 55 around Dwight in the near future, you may need to leave home a little earlier to make up for the construction that is set to begin Monday.
According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, the two projects will consist of pavement removal and replacement at the tops of all the ramps at the Routes 17 and 47 interchanges.
The first stage is expected to last through early June and the second should last from June to July. Both will include lane closures.
IDOT urges motorists to use extreme caution while driving through all work zones and to be alert for flaggers and other workers.
