On the high school diamonds, LeRoy’s baseball season ended in the Class 1A SuperSectional in Champaign in a 9-0 loss to Salt Fork.
Fisher won the 1A softball Supersectional at Illinois Wesleyan 9-7 over Amboy. The Bunnies will play Princeville in the Class 1A semifinals in East Peoria on Friday afternoon.
Today, Streator faces Washington in a Class 3A softball Sectional at Chillicothe, and Normal West meets United Township in a Class 4A softball Sectional semifinal at Normal Community High School.
The Cardinals earned a 6-0 Memorial Day win over the Brewers behind a four-hit day from Matt Carpenter and a monster 466-foot home run from Matt Holliday. Right-handers meet on the mound in the rematch tonight with Wily Peralta for the Brewers and Mike Leake for the Cards. 6:15 tonight on WJBC.

The White Sox managed only two hits off Matt Harvey in a 1-0 loss to the Mets. The South Siders have now lost seven straight. Righty Mat Latos goes for the Sox tonight against lefty Steven Matz for the Mets.
