Pontiac Police Department is announcing three new promotions and a new assignment for four officers within the department.

Pontiac Police Major Dan Davis said with the retirement of James Morgan, these positions became available.

“Named sergeant was Brad Baird. Also filling those voids Derek Schumm and Jeff Franklin were promoted to the rank of corporal. This also left a void in our detective section and I’m happy to announce Mark Armstrong will be filling that.  We’re very happy with how the selection process shook out and all four of these officers are just very good assets to our departments. I couldn’t be more pleased with the current status and how the future looks,” Davis said.

The new promotions became effective June 1.
