The Fairbury Lions Club and the Lions of Illinois Foundation are holding free hearing screenings Tuesday from 10 to 2 at the east parking lot at Dave’s Supermarket in Fairbury.
Teri Wenger, coordinator for the event, explains just how important these screenings are.
“The biggest reason it’s important for people to come out to this is the earlier hearing loss is caught, the better they can do something about it. With the screening being free, we’re hoping to get a lot of people in there and get them through. If anyone has any questions about their hearing or their child’s hearing, we can go through and see if there’s any problems and they’ll be notified that day, so you’ll leave with results about knowing if you need to go and consult a hearing professional or not,” Wenger said.
This is open to people ages 10 and older, but children ages 10 to 17 require parents to come along.
