Sheriff’s Department investigating Streator gun shop burglary

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department is releasing information about a burglary that took place at South Post Guns in Streator early Wednesday morning.

According to a press release from the department, officers were called to the business located at 104 East Livingston Road in Streator and discovered damage to the south side of the building and an unoccupied black Jeep Wrangler inside.

Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was used to commit a burglary to the business by five to seven black males in which firearms were taken.

The investigation is active and ongoing with the sheriff’s department and the Federal Agency of Tobacco, Alcohol and Firearms.
