The Livingston County Health Department is helping parents and students prepare for the coming school year with immunization clinics every Tuesday.
Linda Rhodes, health education and marketing director for the health department, explains why it’s important to schedule immunizations as soon as possible.
“Around the county, the school districts each set their own guidelines for how they are going to enforce immunization policy. The state sends out the guidelines as for what immunizations each grade level has to have. The schools, for example, some will not let them register for school until they have their immunizations up to date. In other places, they have a grace period. But, get them now because school starts in about a month, so, sorry kids,” Rhodes said.
These immunizations happen by appointment only and can be made by calling 844-7174.
