The Pontiac Area Chamber of Commerce recently announced that the yard of Mick and Carole Peterson has been named the July Yard of the Month.

Carole Peterson talked about the work it takes to keep their yard in top shape.

“We were really honored and excited when we heard we were the Yard of the Month. Mick is really particular with the grass, so he likes to do all the maintenance with the grass and he’s become more involved with the plantings. It’s taken us several years to get to this point where we have a lot of things growing in the yard. Most everything I have is perennials that will come up every year and it’s just really fun to have all that in place,” Peterson said.

They received a yard sign, which can be seen at 410 S. Mill Street.
