A new 4-H King and Queen have been crowned.

In a ceremony at the Livingston County Ag and 4-H Fair Monday evening, Jared Friese and Laine Hoenegger received the titles after a day of campaigning, resulting from votes cast by fair participants.

The duo said they’re excited and honored for the new titles and can use this moving forward in their respective ag careers.

Friese said, “My future plans next year are to go to Joliet Junior College and major in Ag Business, but I see myself being back next year to help my sister also show swine.”

Hoenegger said, “I’m going to the University of Illinois in Champaign to major in Ag Business. This year, I didn’t show pigs, but I may come back next year for one more year and show them again.”

The Fair runs through tomorrow at the Livingston County 4-H Park northwest of Pontiac.
