The Livingston County Ag and 4-H Fair is filled with several kinds of awards, but one special one is the Livingston County Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship.
Thirty-three students received varying amounts of scholarship money, including 19-year-old Kagney Collins of Flanagan. Collins will be entering her sophomore year at Blackhawk East Community College and she said she appreciates the scholarship.
“It’s exciting, especially since it’s money. Being a broke college kid, you can always use it. It’s also that, when you come out here, they have all these raffles and silent auctions, that they’re raising money to give to the students who are going to major in ag just to help the ag industry. The ag industry is the biggest industry there is,” Collins said.
The fair ends this evening after the Monster Truck Show at 7:30.
