The Ford and Livingston County conservation districts, along with the American Farmland Trust, are holding the Women Farmers and Landowners Meeting in Saunemin at 9 a.m. Tuesday, August 9.
Debbie Ruff, education coordinator for the Livingston County Soil and Water Conservation District, described the events of the day.
“We’re going to be having a round table discussion to explain a little bit about what nutrients we use for our crops and how they move through the soil during the growing season and how some ultimately might end up in your water supply and what farmers are doing to slow down that process if not stop it,” Ruff said.
The event will take place at the Saunemin Community Building at 70 North Street. For more information or to RSVP, call 815-844-6127, extension 3.
