The people of Saunemin and surrounding communities have the opportunity to take part in the Memorial Day filming of a documentary based on the life and service of Albert Cashier.

An Irish production company will be filming “Jennie Hodgers: Lincoln’s Soldier,” during the Memorial Day services at Sunny Slope Cemetery, where Cashier’s name will be read from the roster of Civil War Veterans buried at the cemetery.

Anyone who is interested in sharing information for the documentary on places of interest in the community or about Cashier, born Jennie Hodgers, are asked to contact the Village of Saunemin at 815-832-4334.
