St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pontiac is celebrating its sesquicentennial with a week of celebration beginning Sunday.

Father David Sabel, pastor at the church, explains how they’re kicking off celebrating 150 years.

“We’ll have the spiritual communion of Mass then the human communion. Hopefully all the parishioners will come over and see Father Steve (Loftus), because I know a lot of them loved him,” Sabel said.

Sabel will be a guest on the Community Forum Monday where he will detail the entire week of activities in honor of the milestone.
