The Livingston County Soil and Water Conservation District is now taking orders for a wide assortment of fish.
Debbie Ruff, education coordinator for the district, has more information.
“What happens is the fish hatchery truck will be found in our parking lot, and everyone needs to bring a pail to hold the bags of water to hold their fish, then we fill their bags with the pre-ordered fish. It’s kind of fun to watch to see all the different species there are. None of these fish are big enough to take home and filet. These fish are meant for stocking your pond, so give them a few years and then they’ll be,” Ruff said.
Orders for triploid grass carp will be accepted until September 1 and all other orders are due by September 9. Fish pick up will be from 11 to noon Friday, September 16, at the office at 1510 W. Reynolds Street. For more information or to order, call 844-6172 extension 3.
