The Pontiac City Council discussed a goal of demolition for Chautauqua Pool during last night’s meeting, but no action was taken so people could weigh in on preservation of a portion of the pool as a memorial.

Some ideas given included saving the front sign of the pool, along with the dedication plaque commemorating Harriet Humiston. No vote was taken on this item and discussions will continue on the subject.

In other business, the City approved the purchase of a new pickup truck for the Street Department. Bids came in from Lynn Chevrolet, Diriscoll’s GMC, Fraher Ford and Heller Ford. A 2016 Ford 5250 from the low bidder, Heller Ford, came in at $26,630.67, and was approved by the City as the winning bid.
