A Pontiac man was arrested and charged with burglary after an incident in Pontiac early Monday morning.
According to Pontiac Police Major Dan Davis, a call came in about damage to the windows at the old Kmart building and Dollar General at Vermillion Plaza. While investigating, LIVCOM received a call about a suspicious person at a rural residence about a mile away. When officers arrived, they found 26-year-old Kyle Burke attempting to gain entry to the home.
He was taken into custody without incident. Video surveillance from Dollar General later confirmed he was the one that broke into the building.
He was formally charged in Livingston County court with burglary and theft of less than $500.
