The Cardinals doubled up the Pirates 12-6. Adam Wainwright gave up four runs and seven hits in five innings but was 2-for-3 with three RBIs at the plate. The series continues tonight in Pittsburgh as the Cardinals send Luke Weaver to the hill against the Pirates’ Ryan Vogelsong.

The Cubs pulled away from the Brewers 7-2 with a go-ahead single in the seventh from pinch hitter Chris Coghlan. Kyle Hendricks gave up a run and five hits over his six innings to improve to 14-7. The Cubs magic number to win the National League Central is now 10. Jason Hammel starts tonight for the Cubs while the host Brewers give the ball to Wily Peralta.

The White Sox fell to the Tigers 5-3 on a three-run homer from Justin Upton in the 11th inning. Lefty Matt Boyd starts tonight for the Tigers while the White Sox counter with right-hander Miguel Gonzalez.

The Chiefs lost their regular season finale at Kane County 7-6. The Chiefs open the Midwest League playoffs tomorrow at Clinton in a best-of-three series that shifts to Peoria Thursday.
