With National Farm Safety Week underway, area businesses are coming together to remind people that big farm machinery will soon be traveling the roads with us.
Livingston County Farm Bureau Manager Jody Hughes said not only are special signs available to remind drivers of the larger machinery, but a mock car vs. combine accident scene is also present at the office.
“We had KSR here in town (the John Deere implement here in town) as well as Stoller’s (the Case IH dealer), so the signs are going to be no charge. The purpose of all this (the signs and the mock accident) is unfortunately, we do see these from time to time. This machinery cannot stop on a dime, so give them some extra space and give yourself some extra time to get to where you’re going,” Hughes said.
Signs are limited and first come, first served, so reserve your sign by calling the Livingston County Farm Bureau at 842-1103.
