OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center is holding an American Red Cross Blood drive today from 11 to 4 in the ground floor conference rooms.

Pam Meiner, community relations coordinator for OSF Healthcare Pontiac, said it’s always important to donate blood.

“I think it’s always important to remind people that often folks think that blood is needed for just accident and injury victims, and while that is true, there are also people who maybe have a chronic illness or condition that mandates they receive blood products. Having a solid blood supply is certainly important to the health of our community,” Meiner said.
