In honor of the upcoming observance of Veterans Day, today’s Veteran Spotlight is Richard Whitmar. Whitmar joined the Navy and served in Vietnam. Whitmar explains why Veterans Day is important to him.

“You’ve got to have the veterans to keep all the freedoms we have here. All the protests going on right now – people have the right to do that without fear of getting their head chopped off like they would in other countries. Whether you agree with the protests, they have the right,” Whitmar said.
