President-elect Donald Trump made his victory speech shortly after 2 a.m. this morning, after defeating Hillary Clinton with 289-218 electoral votes, according to CNN.
Local (unofficial) election results (according to livingstoncountyil.gov) from Livingston County are as follows:
Running unopposed in this election include Randy Yedinak for Livingston County State’s Attorney, LeAnn Dixon for Livingston County Circuit Clerk and Danny Watson for Livingston County Coroner. Running unopposed for Livingston County Board includes Jack Vietti, Mike Ingles, Kelly Cochran-Cohlman and Carolyn Gerwin, all republicans for District 1. For district two, Republicans Jason Bunting, Joe Steichen, Bob Young and Ronald Kestner, with Democrat M. Bennett Tejes falling short. For a two-year term for district two – Steven Lovell. District three with all Republican candidates running unopposed includes John Slagel, Tim Shafer, Paul Ritter and Vicki Allen.
The no votes prevailed in the Livingston County proposition pertaining to the minimum distance of wind turbines did not pass, meaning an increased setback of more than 1600 feet between wind turbines and residences.
Mark Fellheimer ran unopposed to fill Charles Reynard’s 11th Circuit Judge position, as was Casey Costigan to fill Elizabeth Robb’s position. In the 11th Circuit, Judges Scott Drazewski and James Knecht were also retained.
Statewide results are as follows:
Running unopposed in State races includes Congress District 16 going to Adam Kinzinger, State Senate District 53 Jason Barickman, State Representative District 105 Dan Brady and State Representative District 106 to Tom Bennett. In State Senate District 38, Sue Rezin defeats democrat Christine Benson and in State Representative District 76, Jerry Lee Long defeats Democrat Andy Skoog. For US Senate, Democrat Tammy Duckworth defeats Mark Kirk and Democrat Susanna Mendoza defeats Leslie Munger for Illinois Comptroller.
