Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean the gnat population in many kitchens can’t thrive.

Kelly Allsup, University of Illinois Horticulture Educator, said that fungus gnats are common pests of houseplants. Tips she gives to rid your home of this nuisance include allowing plants to dry between watering and throw away any weak and dead plants. She also suggests setting out yellow sticky cards with adhesive, as the gnats are attracted to the color.
