An assault involving five offenders at Pontiac Correctional Center Sunday left six Illinois Department of Corrections staff members with non-life threatening injuries.

According to IDOC spokesperson Nicole Wilson, those staff members were treated for their injuries and have been released from the hospital.

The IDOC is conducting an investigation and once completed, the case will be referred to the Livingston County State’s Attorney for prosecution.

The facility has been placed on lockdown.
