Former library director pleads guilty

The former director of the Pontiac and Odell libraries will be sentenced June 19, on theft charges, and could face up to 30 years in prison.

Eric Colclasure, 44,  of Pontiac pleaded guilty to the charges on Thursday, which allege he exerted unauthorized control over money belonging to Heartland Community College by intercepting it from the mail.

Route 66 rolls out the red carpet

PONTIAC - Several events are planned along a 90-mile stretch of historic Route 66 this weekend, during the sixth annual Red Carpet Corridor Festival.  Each of the 13 towns along this portion of the road, including Pontiac, will offer a unique collection of activities.

Deadline extended for history book

PONTIAC - The deadline for submitting photos and ordering the Pictorial History Book of Livingston County has been extended to June.

Several people have already submitted photographs for the book and over 200 books have been ordered so far.  Another flier will be mailed out to everyone in the county in about two weeks.

Two face drug charges

PONTIAC - Two people have been charged with unlawful possession of cannabis in Livingston County Court.

Tarowe Evans, 34,  of Danville and Nereida Crosby of Rocky Ford, Colorado, will both appear in court later this month for preliminary hearings.

Fairbury residents should lock cars

FAIRBURY - Fairbury residents are being urged to lock their cars after a string of vehicle burglaries during the past several nights.

Fairbury Police say around 10 to 12 vehicles were entered in various locations around the city, with stolen items ranging from I-pods to cell phone chargers and candy.
